Spring Chicken Keller Denies Thierry Henry

This November will see him turn 42 and he’s already in his 4th decade of professional football, but it’s good to see Kasey Keller come out on top of a duel between former Premier League stars in Major League Soccer. With the possible exception of ill-considered routines with Robert Pires, Thierry Henry is normally pretty deadly from 12 yards, but defying the effects of age, the former Leicester, Tottenham and Fulham keeper got down superbly well to keep the Frenchman’s effort out.

After amassing over a century of international caps during a career that really puts the journey into journeyman, Keller returned to MLS in 2008 to play for the closest thing to a hometown club he’ll get, the Seattle Sounders.
